Welcome to our classroom! This page is intended to provide parents information about what their child is learning. I believe that every student that enters my classroom can succeed. It is my duty as a teacher to help every student reach their full potential and gain knowledge and skills that they will require in their daily lives as a citizen of our society.

This Week's Book SelectionThese are the books we will be focusing on this week. Each child will be bringing all three books home on Monday. I encourage all parents to sit down with their child and read each one together.
Eight Animals on the Town ~ Susan Middleton Elya
Combining a seamless union of English and Spanish, eight traveling animals visit the market then spend a rip-roaring good time in town. Say Hola to Spanish at the Circus ~ Susan Middleton Elya
Laugh at the clowns and watch a whole troupe of crazy animals doing their tricks in the circus. Pick up a few new words in Spanish, too! Three More Stories You Can Read to Your Cat ~Sara Swan Miller
Do you want to know what your cat really thinks? Cozy up with your kitty and find out in this hilarious trio of stories.
I encourage parents to set up a fun and comfortable area for their child to curl up and read. Here is a picture of our Reading Corner.
In celebration of Dr. Seuss day, students will be choosing their favorite Dr. Seuss book and prepare a 2 to 3 minute speech based on that book. For this week's homework, each student will need to choose their book and begin preparing their speech. The speech should include a summary of the book, the part the student liked the most, and why other people should read the book. The emphasis of the speech is delivery.
